Ketamine Infusion
Ketamine is a medication commonly used for anesthesia for surgical procedure. In the recent past, its use has been expanded in order to treat multiple chronic ailments as well. If infused at a low dose, ketamine has been shown to improve Chronic pain, Fibromyalgia, Anxiety, Depression, and Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder.
For many of the chronic problems listed above, the current medication can take 4-6 weeks to begin to have improvement in symptoms. Ketamine's mechanism of action helps to to reset the nervous system to allow for decrease in Neuropathic pain, Fibromyalgia, PTSD, Depression, and OCD symptoms.
These infusions take place in the clinic over approximately 1-2 hours, in a completely private and tranquil room. During this experience your vital signs will be monitored and a physician will oversee your care. This infusion will not render you unconscious but you may experience a euphoric, trance-like, or meditative state. We do offer sensory deprivation options with noise canceling head phones and eye covers which may enhance the treatment.
Please do not hesitate to ask our physician team about ketamine infusion therapy and how it may help you.

Medical Cannabis
At OlympusMD Pain and Wellness Specialists, we understand that there are multiple options to help manage chronic pain. One of the most commonly used alternatives is cannabis.
Cannabis can be divided into CBD (cannabidiol) and THC (tetrahydrocannbinol). We currently offer CBD in an oil/tincture mixture. CBD oil’s mechanism of action in the nervous system leads to a decrease in inflammation, neuropathic pain, and somatic pain. CBD has also been shown to be an option to treat depression and anxiety due to its effects on receptors in brain.
THC (tetrahydrocannbinol) is often known for the “high” feeling associated with cannabis. In recent studies and clinical trials it has been shown that the use of lower levels of THC (<5%) in combination with CBD can lead to better outcomes in some medical conditions but without the unwanted “high” sensation.
Georgia currently allows the possession of low CBD oil with <5% THC. The following medical conditions qualify:
Cancer, when such diagnosis is end stage or the treatment produces related wasting illness/recalcitrant nausea and vomiting
